The Pihakis Restaurant Group, led by restaurateur Nick Pihakis, is based out of Birmingham, AL with restaurants across the country. Pihakis began working in the restaurant business when he was just 19 years old, where he gained his love for the industry. From founding and growing the Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q restaurant family into a seven-state empire, to being a driving force behind the FatBack Pig Project (which includes the prestigious group The FatBack Collective), and actively involved in organizations like The Southern Foodways Alliance – Nick Pihakis has become a name synonymous with successful hospitality ventures, earning James Beard Foundation award nominations for Best Restaurateur in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015.

Nick began working in restaurants when he was 19 years old and started his Birmingham based barbecue business, Jim N Nick’s Bar-B-Q in Birmingham, Alabama 30 years ago with his father. The company still thrives with multiple locations in restaurants in several states. Nick believes in creating community gathering places that offer great food, drinks and an opportunity for employees to grow. He is inspired by travel and the creative minds that he meets along the way and he is a proud supporter of the Southern Foodways Alliance and The Jones ValleyUrban Teaching Farm. Nick was nominated for the James Beard Foundation’s award for Best Restaurateur in 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. It is Nick’s ability to identify enthusiasm, authenticity and business opportunity that inspired him to create The Pihakis Restaurant Group.
